We are very excited this year to be expanding the Great American Yard Sale August 16-17, 2008.  The Great American Yard Sale is a not-for profit organization that raises money to assist the homeless.  Over the past 20 years the Great American Yard Sale has raised over $600,000 for area homeless organizations.

The Great American Yard Sale reaches over 30,000-40,000 people over the course of 10 days.  This is a win-win venture for the community as over the weekend of August 8th-10th people are able to donate items they no longer need, then hundreds of volunteers price and set up the items during the week and during the sale days August 16th-17th; 20,000-30,000 bargain hunters from all over the state come and find some of the greatest treasures at great prices.  Then the remaining proceeds are given to 5 different area organizations.  DuPage P.A.D.S., Families helping Families, DuPage County Dept. of Human Services, Senior Home Sharing and HESAD House.
